How do criticals work in this game?

I was just wondering how the damage is calculated. Is it a 2x multiplier or something else?
Any help would be awesome ^.^;

I think I've read it's 150% of weapon damage, so that would be a 50% or 1/2 bonus to damage.

I can't confirm this, so don't take it for granted.
