I kind of felt bad for them even though they hunted me every once in awhile.

still seemed like a waste of a location, it served no purpose before, and now serves no purpose again, besides a few lines of meaningless gibberish.."oh yeah, it got destroyed" aaaand you move on...

I journeyed to the site after I heard about its destruction. When I arrived my initial reaction was "daaaaaaaaayum", and then I realized that the Vigilants are [censored]s so I was on my merry way and haven't really cared for it since then.

Considering I already took it upon myself to wipe all of them out... I find myself feeling cheated that vampires are getting the credit for my handiwork.

Personally I like that they included the Vigilants in that way, though I don't have anything against the Vigilant themselves. Kinda wish you could tell the Vigilants you meet on the road that their Hall is destroyed though.

Edit: Or that they got a new Keeper who was at Stendarr's Beacon. Would be a nice datail if they actually moved their headquarters there.

I think the biggest mystery involving the hall is what the heck happened to the stairs?

Like the vamps took credit for my work. I had already slaughtered them all on all my evil characters

I chuckled for almost five minutes.

Granted, I had already slaughtered them at their Hall as well as Stendaar's Beacon well before Dawnguard dropped, but the Hall's actual destruction was like the satisfactory kick-in-the-groin after the slaughter.

I loved it.

They were a bit too self righteous for my liking, but that doesn't necessarily mean they were fanatical, or that they deserved to die.

I got to the point in one of my games where they would attack me on sight. :D

So seeing the smoking rubble gave me great joy.

I've have never had a problem with the Vigilants. In fact, I kind of like them. Sure it takes almost two of them to kill a silly Fire Atronach, but seeing them wander the roads are the type of encounters that Oblivion and Morrowind just lacked. And since I never wore Daedric Armor, they never had a problem with me. I wish a rebuilding of their hall could be in order, but since i'm sure it will get the same treatment as Helgen, I'll just have to help defend Stendarrs Beacon when possible.

Happy. It was time those evil fanatics faced the wrath of Bal's gifted.

True. It adds a little to the story though, seeing as the only publicly established order dedicated to fighting evils gets crippled and the few remaining members are scattered.

They are kinda stupid.. I mean seriously, the Vigilant you talk to in the very first Dawnguard quest told you "Meet me at the cave.." yet he was dumb enough to rush in and die before I got there...

And they always been like that. There been countless times where I found a few of them on the road, and I follow them.. They end up fighting some sort of Vampire or Daedra then they get killed.. So basicly, they always end up dying!

It is like Isran says: They are soft and they are not trained for fighting anything more dangerous than cultists. No wonder they got destroyed when they went up against the vampires under Harkons command.

Amen! I always felt like I was missing something, that there was a quest I did not do that should give the place a purpose.

The Vigil of Stendarr would make Stendarr facepalm in embarassment, for the Vigilants forgot one of the fundamental tenets of mercy: Discretion. For all his extremism, Isran ultimately still remembered it.

So the annihilation of the Vigil is a bit of a Kick The SOB moment for me...

How did you feel about the Hall of Vigilant being destroyed by the vampires?

Anyone who joins such a single-minded group will, in time, be culled from the herd.
The structure they call home is, therefore, irrelevant to the overall betterment of understanding.
So how I feel about their hovel does not change, whether it be intact or smoldering.
And that feeling is best described as indifferent.

Good riddance to bad rubbish I say.

I despise fanatics of any sort both in my games and IRL. The only thing keeping my character from wiping them out himself was (Ironically) his sense of honour and the fact he wanted to prove not all Werewolves/Vampires are evil. I think he and Serana proved to be a pretty good example of both cases being "decent" people.

Hell considering the Vigil actually only see in black and white with the whole "werewolves/vamps/daedra/daedra worshippers must die" philosophy I have to wonder how many innocent followers of Azura or Meridia they brutally murdered? That's something to think about.
