How did you hook up your Xbox One setup? Did you put your Satellite/cable box through the Xbox. I have done that, but was surprised to see when I shut the Xbox off, the Satellite goes off as well. I guess because the Xbox is not powered the Sat signal is not going to the TV.

I am wondering if I should change to the old way, have them all separate, so when not using the Xbox, it can be shut off then.

Do you think it will be ok to leave the xbox on almost all day by either watching TV or playing games?

I would like to know what way you guys and girls hooked up your Xbox and why.

Assuming you have no overheating issues, leaving the Xbox on should be no different than leaving your computer on.

Is the intention to allow the Xbox control of the cable/sat box's power so it can turn it on to DVR stuff for you and turn it off when it's done? I'm not familiar with XB1's connections.
