How to disable projectile kill cams?

Post » Sat May 26, 2012 12:17 pm

More of those annoying kill cams in 1.5.26.0.5 update :blink:
Any one knows what to look for in the CK to disable the projectile kill cams?

Mods. That's the only way. Read wrong. Didn't see that you were looking in the CK how to do it. I have no idea, sorry man. PM one of the creators that have made such mods? I've heard though that CK doesn't have information to edit these new kill cams.

Check out your Skyrimi.ini

[VATS]
uVATSRangedPercentSneak=0 default 33
uVATSRangedPercentGlobal=0 default 50
bVATSIgnoreProjectileTest=0
bVATSForceRanged=0

This should disable projectile cams. I have them set a little higher.

Don't have any section in ether of my .ini's that is called [VATS], added yours tho so see if that works :smile:

Added this section under [GamePlay] section in SkyrimPrefs.ini...
[VATS]
uVATSRangedPercentSneak=0
uVATSRangedPercentGlobal=0
bVATSIgnoreProjectileTest=0
bVATSForceRanged=0

Thanks!

How did you determine these variables and their default values? I don't see them in a generated ini file or after using the saveini command.

Edit: I am using the USKP, so when I used the 'saveini' command, a new 'Unofficial Skyrim Patch.ini' file was created in my data folder. It included these variables as well as some others. My question is answered.

It's the same system that they used to do killcams in Fallout. Why rename it? I think they kept the name for nostalgia's sake. Good ol' Fallout 3... :D

DAMN!...I still get these kill cam shots (VATS) with bows after adding these lines to my SkyrimPrefs.ini...

[VATS]
uVATSRangedPercentSneak=0
uVATSRangedPercentGlobal=0
bVATSIgnoreProjectileTest=0
bVATSForceRanged=0

...is there nothing i can change in the CK to disable VATS all together, don't understand why they don't let us enable disable it in the settings menu in-game (every one don't like it).

Perhaps you are supposed to put them in Skyrim.ini and not SkyrimPrefs.ini?

I hope you didn't put the category [VATS] under [Gameplay], that would eliminate every ini setting under Gameplay until it says [VATS]. You should delete those lines or restore your SkyrimPrefs if you can, and add the settings I gave you to Skyrim.ini

If there's no [VATS] section in Skyrim.ini, then create one.

SkyrimPrefs acts different and has some of Skyrim.ini's settings, but often placed under a different category.

There is a mod on Nexus that disables both archery and magic kill-cams, and another mod that disables melee cams.

No i did'nt add it direct under the [Gameplay] line but under that setion so that the [VATS] section was one separate section, but i have removed it from my SkyrimPrefs.ini and added it to the Skyrim.ini looks like this...

[Combat]
fMagnetismStrafeHeadingMult=0.0
fMagnetismLookingMult=0.0
f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.15
f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.15
[VATS]
uVATSRangedPercentSneak=0
uVATSRangedPercentGlobal=0
bVATSIgnoreProjectileTest=0
bVATSForceRanged=0

...is that OK!

You have no link?, did look yesterday at Nexus but can't find anything.

Hopefully the disabling mods work, because the few forced killcam mods out there all have tons of bugs since 1.5 versions released. They're all broken even when they've updated them for 1.5.

Well moving those lines to Skyrim.ini file looks it did the trick, havent had one single cam effect with bow so far. I have disabeled the kill cam for melee weapons a long time ago, and that is still working just fine.

Ranged and Missile: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13396

Melee: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13446

Both work, though the melee you have to read a book in your inventory to change the settings.

Melee is easy to remove the kill cam in CK, just look for the Global KillCam and change 1 to 0 (zero).
The ranged you can disable by adding the lines Porscha wrote in Skyrim.ini, no need for any mods :smile:

But :thanks: for the links any way.
