I'm wearing Vampire Armor, because it fit the assassin look for the dark brotherhood. A nice red and black theme.

How does Serana speak basic language after being imprisoned for over two thousand years? How did Solitude exist back then? Many loopholes!

That wasn't his point. He was just saying that he found it odd.

Argos has been continuously inhabited for the past 7,000 years, its recognized as one of the worlds oldest cities. How did Solitude existed back then? Because Skyrim was the first province inhabited by man, and if five thousand year old cities can exist in real life they can certainly existing in a video game. Serana wasn't conscious during her imprisonment so speaking really isn't a problem.

Fair enough on the cities, but it is impossible that a language would not change over thousands of years. Hell you can observe changes during your own lifetime.
I'm pretty sure there's a trope for all this linguistic nonsense.
In any case, unless the work is made by a linguist, language tends to get taken for granted in just about every medium. So you're best off just ignoring those kind of details. :P

Blood is knowledge. We already know that Dawnguard is one big reference to Underworld. The only thing missing are the werewolves in actual Dawnguard order

Yeah it falls under Acceptable Breaks from Reality because no one would really find that interesting for very long. People have hired linguists to invent entire languages for science fiction and fantasy. But at the end of the day unless the movie is about two people speaking a vastly different language learning to communcate its best to just have everyone speak the language of the target demographic.

/sigh. I don't understand why everyone is getting sentimental all of the sudden. I didn't call you an idiot, don't take it the wrong way. I just don't think complaining about another member of the forum is relevant to the topic.

On topic: When was Solitude first built? Anyone know?

Probably from the late first - early second era

When you talk to serana after waking her up you find out how old is the city
