How effective is a one-handed War Axe for blocking compared to shields and two handed weapons?

I think all weapons without shields block with the same amount of effectivity but I may be wrong maybe 2H weapons are better at blocking.That would make sense.

It would make sense but that's not how it actually works. All weapons block the same amount, 42% with no skill or perks and up to 60% fully perked.
