How to fix a broken cell...

Post » Mon Jun 18, 2012 8:18 pm

The cell I′ve worked on for the last 60h got totally buggy :yuck:
The doors stopped working - CTD if I use them ingame. New doors don′t work either... :swear:

With a new cell everything works - so I would either need a way to fix the broken cell or find a solution how to transfer my work into a new cell!

Any help appreciated!

thx thx thx

edit: duplicating the cell and relinking the doors didn′t help... still CTDs

edit 02: copy-paste action seems to do the trick... started a new cell, copied only walls, lights, clutter into it, relinked a door and it worked...
so lets hope it will work with the remaining doors too!!! :lightbulb:

But it would be very very interesting what caused this bug in the first place!!!

Just when I had a glimmer of hope from your first post, I come home and see your new post

The same problem is keeping me away from modding. I've spent so much time already getting all the things set up in a house and it seems like it was all a waste. I can't believe there isn't a logical way to trace this problem, it's unbelievable that the game has no logs or error messages.

Yeah, it′s a shame!
But I can′t believe that Bethesda used this piece of software to create whole Skyrim either!
Suicide-count there must be enormous...

To me this seems like a inofficial Beta-Test of their new CK

Check your editorwarnings.txt in the Skyrim folder. Maybe your error is recorded there?

I wish. I get an identical log from loading a working and a non-working mod.

only this one:

MASTERFILE: Potentially Invalid Z value (-99090.45) on reference: REFR Form '' (01008FD9) to INGR form 'Garlic' (00034D22) in Cell 'aCarbon' (0100448B)

-> deleted Garlic but still CTD.
