A number of people have reported CTD shortly after loading a savegame in Wellspring after updating to the Oct 8 patch.

I have no idea what causes this, but in order to resolve this problem, try to quickly join a race or exit Wellspring without looking at the ground.

You should be able to immediately return to Wellspring and experience no further CTDs.
