Saw some convoluted procedure on the UESP wiki, and I've searched around this board for "Farkas," but gotten no real resolution.

I've recovered all of Hircine's totems and Vilkas and my character have been cured of lycanthropy. I have been running countless animal extermination and rescue quests for Aela and Vilkas, but all Farkas has by way of dialogue is an offer to follow me. With the CK out, I was hoping there was a way to add the requisite dialogue lines to Farkas. My real goal is to get him cured of lycanthropy. I don't care so much about more mindless radiant AI quests - I just want to acquire his Purity quest.

I have tried the setstage CR13 (1, 10, 15, 17, etc) command, but it doesn't accomplish anything - seems like he has to initiate the quest through dialogue for the game to attach it to him.

So to recap, I'm looking for a way to get Farkas to offer his Purity quest so I can be done with the companions. I'm on PC and have the CK, so I'm open to any options via console and modding.

You don't get it as a purity quest for both of them. Just one. If you already did "Purity" for Vilkas then just bring Farkas and a witch head there and it will work.

Not sure why he's not giving out jobs but it shouldn't matter. You don't need any kind of quest to cure the second person.

I got so excited to hear this - but it isn't working. I had Farkas follow me to the Flame of the Harbinger with two Glenmoril witch heads on me. Clicking the Flame doesn't do anything. I also tried selecting the dialogue "I need you to do something for me" followed by clicking/selecting the Flame. Still nothing. I also tried putting a head in his inventory and repeating the aforementioned. Nothing.

I got quests for both brothers.

Some dialogue options with Farkas disappeared for me after finishing several of his radiant quests. Namely asking him to follow me and make a homecooked meal. I thought it was something buggy with being married to him, but maybe his dialogue gets messed up at some point.

Sorry, my bad. It was Kodlak in one quest and then Farkas in the purity quest for my game. I totally appologize for giving you bad info. I don't think I cured anyone else but myself after.

I've heard that marrying some characters messes up there quest options. Sounds like this may have happened with Farkas.
Hopefully the patch will fix this for you.

The Companions and Jorvasskr are very glitchy parts of the game. I've had a few freezups just trying to enter the building a few times. And a certain other character who is suppose to be dead all of a sudden isn't anymore.

The only odd things I've noticed about the Companions third tier quests is that I needed to ask them to start it while they were outside of Jorrvaskr, and that I needed to do Farkas's Purity quest before Vilkas's otherwise Vilkas's quest would auto-complete right after getting it, and it would glitch making me not be able to have any follower anymore. I'm on Xbox, btw.

@cobrasno1: don't sweat it - unfortunately, I'm already patched up - so if the patch has an effect, it might need a new game or an older save reload to take effect.

@LoZ: ran into the Vilkas auto-complete bug, too - I was able to use the command console to navigate through that, which I was hoping to do with Farkas, but so far, no dice.

Doing a little bump here - some time has passed and maybe some fresh eyes on the topic can be of help...

Does anyone know how to use the console to get the Purity quest for Farkas, after both Vilkas and the PC have been cured of lycanthropy? Farkas doesn't even offer any Companions radiant quest dialogue - he only has the dialogue option to follow the player character. Remember, I'm on PC, so console code stuff is applicable!

On my first character, Aillas, I proposed to Aela while in Ysgramor's Tomb, right after curing Kodlak. I subsequently married her and never, not once, did I get any Totem of Hircine quests from her, just the Animal extermination ones. Strangely, if she's following me she won't have any quest offers unless I'm currently on one for Farkas (Vilkas stopped handing those out after he was cured). As a result, she'll say I'm already on a quest for Farkas. If I complete the task for Farkas, and Aela is not following me, I can ask her for... another animal extermination quest. I since cured myself since I was never going to see any more totems.

Now on my current guy, Turjin, I've done the whole Companion's quest line. Aela had one (1) totem of Hircine quest, now it's back to big game hunting. I've only done a couple of quests for Vilkas and Farkas so far, including bringing back an heirloom. I may cure myself of lycanthropy, since I simply do not find being a werewolf at all useful. The only other thing I've done with the Companions was to hear Njada sneer at me about guidance for the last time. I gave her to Delphine, lol.
