How to get girlfriend into Skyrim?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 3:30 am

My GF loves Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Narnia so I assume if she gave this game a chance she may like it!

Problem is she has absolutely zero interest in video games :( Have any of you been able to convert your significant other? and how so? Or is it a lost cause?

Tell her she can get some very cool cooking recipes from stroking the poke in the pot.

Introduce it slowly at first, let her watch you play and try to make it entertaining for her. Then eventually she could make her own character if she wants, and see where it goes from there.

Well if you can find a nice outfit for her to wear and maybe she will give a shot, depend on what outfits you get in that roleplaying roles.

Buy a Wii or something. Skyrim might be a bit more streamlined, but it's not exactly entry level.

My GF really loves gaming by the way, ehehehehe! ;)

I bought Morrowind GOTY for my husband six years ago, intending not to play it. I watched him play for several hours and then decided that yeah, I was going to give it a go. Now he doesn't have a hope of getting on SKYRIM until January 2012 at the earliest.

Basically...just have her watch you play for a while. Do interesting quests and really show off the world. If she's as big a fantasy fan as you suggest, she'll get hooked. :)

(Also, to the "show her the clothes and shoes she can buy" response above? Yeah, that's not going to work. There's a serious lack of GOOD clothes and shoes. :P)

Dress up as a skeever and try and seduce her. If you succeed, you're in.

If shoes are the selling point, show her the furniture beside Movarth's bed in Movarth's Lair. He has a legitimate boot/shoe fetish.

Why do you think Bethesda put rabbits in the game?

I can't say for sure, since I'm neither a chick nor a non-game-playing-chick, but I'd say if you wanna get the girlfriend into computer games you might wanna start with something more casual than Skyrim. It might be a bit large for somebody who has no interest in games at all.

I actually met my girlfriend at Best Buy while I was playing a demo for DJ Hero. She dug my skills B)
She initially only played games like Lego Star Wars and Guitar Hero, but I introduced her to Fallout 3 and she fell in love with it. Now all we do is play video games together. It's definitely our bonding time.

If you can get her to watch you play, I would advise you to not talk about stats and levels. The game should win her over, or not. Just try not to kill the mood with a Plus 25 Battleaxe of Boring.

Good luck!!

Make a disgustingly sixy female character, then say you modelled it on her.

You can say her that it's important to you to share that interest. Then trying it is up to her. Of course this means you are going to do the same with one of her interests.
