How to get rid of your bounty? : V

Hey,

I have a question I have about 300 bounty in Whiterun. And I have to go to Riverwood for a quest. But the people there keep attacking me. And If I go to Whiterun they constantly attack me. I don't know how I get rid of this bounty?!

Sheathe your sword in front of the guards or join the Thieves guild.

Put away your weapon near attacking guards. They'll approach and demand payment or jail time.
