How good do you think the meleestealth combination will be?

As you all know - in previous elder scrolls games, stealth + archery was insanely powerful. Managing to kill quite a few bosses before they'd even manage to get near you.

Now whenever i tried a stealthy melee, i always found it (for me, i might've just been bad at it) quite difficult because i'd always get caught before i got close enough to get a stealth hit, and the damage that you could get in with archery before they'd even spot you doesn't really seem to justify getting one stealth hit in with melee.

So im asking how good you think the melee with stealth will be now its coming onto an mmorpg?

If the enemy player is smart enough to use magelight, then they will probably detect you, otherwise you should sneak up BEHIND the enemy, it won't be smart to sneak right in front of them.

Hopefully it is high risk high reward. Not expecting to one shot true lvl 50s but lol would be nice to be able to one shot lvl 10s boosted to 50.

I understand you'll do extra damage if you strike undetected, but it won't be so overpowered like it was in Skyrim where you could one shot everything.

But in Skyrim I could go invisible with muffling enchantments and STILL get caught sneaking up behind someone alone in a dark room...

(Oh and with Sneak 90.)

I think if you're able to sneak up on an actual human player without being seen, you deserve a one shot.

Well I would say the NPC will have a chance to detect you, depending on your sneak skill in ESO, and if they use any sneak detecting abilities or not, of course regarding players it depends whether they are observant or not :P

Not in my game. In the vanilla versions on both the Xbox and PC, one is literally invisible with a Sneak skill of 75. I never went up the left side of the tree and only invested one perk in Stealth. That was only to get up the right side.

Add in muffled boots or a muffle spell and you can jump up and down in front of them in broad daylight. Sneak is utterly broken in Skyrim. I don't see it being the same mechanics in ESO.

If I remember right stealth drains endo while active, but Is stealth = invisibility in ESO's PvP? Or did they think up something more clever than players becoming invisible in broad daylight?

Stealth drains stamina while moving, I think if you stay still while stealthed you don't lose stamina.
Not sure if you go invisible or not, but Konkle said you'll be much better off approaching from behind.
