How I got Co-op to connect

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 11:31 am

Last night my brother and I spent around 3-4 hours trying to get co-op to work, this is what ended up working.. hopefully some of you might benefit from it.

Forward port 7777 on your router (in case you have never done this before, neither have I. Just look up your router's I.P by the manufacturer, log in and find it in the menu.. it was super easy)
Download http://www.tunngle.net/index.php?l=en (Both you and your friend will need it)
When you both have tunngle running, join the Hunted: The Demon's Forge network/channel in Tunngle (it will take a second to load)
Have whomever forwarded the ports (the host) "host lan game"
Get your friend who will join you, go into "join LAN game"
The host name should be there, click them and join up!

This took ages for us to figure out, since we tried everything possible (himachi, game ranger, port forwarding, him host me host etc.. ) I really hope tis might be of some use to you guys!

Thank you for this. All the other VPN programs are pure garbage. Time after time again, only Tunngle was the one that worked for me man. If you are getting near the frustration limit with LAN, I highly encourage users to use Tunngle.

Tunngle works perfectly without any other configuration need, no need to do anything with the router, it fails anyway on online play in my case. One shouldn't need to configre the router to get online play to work. Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale have the same type of online play with gamespy and does not require any configuration whatsoever, this is simply something Bethesda needs to fix, in addition to the bug concering ALT+TABing out and back to game from windows (crashes on most games where you are logged into gamespy) a temporary fix is to play in windowed mode [suggested by Bethesda themselves]
