How high does the Rune War Axe's damage go?

Just curious, and is the damage equal to the number of the undead?

I believe it to be infinite(Or high enough it does not matter).

Yeah, infinite, its meant to reset at each dawn(?) or thereabouts.

According to wiki the limit is 10. And if you temper (improve) the axe, the counter never resets.

According to the UESP wiki, max damage is 100. And I know I tempered it and the counter just kept going up and up and up. I had a count of well over 200 at one point.
