How to install Rage on Windows 7 (64 bit)

Post » Sat Aug 17, 2013 6:47 pm

Greetings to all. Today i've bought Rage with the three DVD's inside the box. It could be the normal version from 2011 (I can see no infos about a special version on it). My PC (Intel i4770, 16GB Ram, ASUS GTX770) is running on Windows 7 (64 bit). The problem: The package of the game says, that RAGE will run on 64 bit systems whith Windows 7 systems. But: Even when I insert the first DVD no setup-screen appears and when I try to get manual access on the DVD it shows no content on the DVD (no files are shown). This error exists on each of the three DVD's: No contant is shown. Why?

Well, for sure I have the original STEAM-Key and I've activated the game. But... do I have to wait until nearly 20GB are downloaded from STEAM? Why is an install from the DVD's not possible? Can I get tools/programs/hints and tips to install the game from the DVD's to speed up the install process? Of course... it takes a very long time to download nearly 20GB via STEAM. What are the three DVD's for, when an install on Windows 7 (64 bit) does not run?

Please help me and I'm sorry, if I didn't find infos in the forum. I'm a new user and hope for help. Thanks very much.

Definitely check if your drive reads other discs properly.

Rage installed just fine for me in Win7 64bit, autorun launched as it was supposed to. So the problem is not in the game, it could be your specific copy of the disks might be scratched or defective, or of course, there could be something wrong with your drive.
