Bring allies, but don't conjure something. He turns them over to his side.

are you a mage? a warrior? do you use wards or shields or... ? kinda hard to give advise unknown.

My mage really suffered in this fight and barely made it out to brag... my spellsword and my warrior have both been really strong in this fight by just making sure that I don't let him hit me and land everything I can on him to kill him.

staves are nice... not tied to your magicka... scrolls are yum, for the same reason.

he's tough on mages because he drains your magicka every time he speaks, so between casting you need potions and/or a convenient pillar to hide behind.

for a warrior you need to hit him from a distance or just have a real lot of potions on hand because he hits pretty hard, for an undead dude in a dress.

whatever else you do, remember that he can control your summoned followers so avoid using an atronoch, familiar or thrall in this fight... it will only kill you.

I've tried all this, but because the game doesn't have ranks and a needed level for finishing the college or the likes, I didn't know I had to be a frikking master Mage to finish this.

you don't have to be. the first time I nailed him was on a character level 24, the next two times both of my characters were under 15... I think it's more true that you're frustrated and not playing as well as you usually do. give it a few and then go back and kick his butt.

I took him out by sniping fireballs. I relied heavily on the impact perk and a potion that substantially boosted my magicka regeneration.

not sure what to tell you then... go away and come back in a few levels? I did three main quests on a character before they were 17, including mages, civil war and dragonborn. it's in staying calm and focusing... and not freaking out when something is tougher than you are.

you said it yourself. level 7. almost no perks spent. pay attention to the strengths of the class/race and player.

sorry you're frustrated.

Lol, so I thought what about melee? When I try to get him with an axe he runs away, when I snipe him with flaming balls of death he creeps up on me.
I wish he was stupid and my followers were as smart as him :P

Which one is Morokei? Is that the one for Labryinthian? I just used Dual casted Sparks on him. He had zero magicka, so my conjured minion beat him to death

Here's what I do to dragon priests:

I let mayhem work its magic on any bodyguards. Then I roll in with dual casted peace. Then I hit him with level 1 marked for death then peace, then marked for death then peace. I do that a few times, then I summon a bound sword. I creep up behind him and 12x one shot him with my conjured sword.

I have a dremora standing by in case he doesn't fall in 1 shot. Even if he doesn't fall in one shot, his defense is so ridiculously debuffed that the dremora will just flick him and what's left of him will crumble.

Marked for death stacking is godly on bosses/ancient dragons.

I killed him at about Level 30 (IIRC) with a shock enchanted bow that did about 45 damage per shot with all my fortify archery gear in place. I stayed in the doorway to his room and ducked back into the previous room when I needed to take cover.

He actually went down pretty easily - I had a harder time with Rahgot, and Krosis was a beast.

If you're a High Elf, use Highborn. I did this and I kept launching Lightning Bolts at him. Make sure you have impact.

If you're not a High Elf mage, try to bring companions, potions, and use your racial ability. Stuff like the Argonian's Histskin can be really useful here.

Ahh you are a mage, its quite difficult to kill him as one, but I just used the Call of Valdor shout on him, and he died in no time!

I am a Battlemage of sorts, and magic was not cutting it. I finally took care of him with my sword... rushed in close with a decent ward and hacked that MF down. :-)

(now I have a staff of storm atronoch - so next Dragon Priest will get softened up before I rush in...)

I had so much trouble fighting him the first time.

The second time I was a breton (25% magic resistance) and had atronarch sign (50% magic absorb). It was a really relaxing experience fighting him :D

I used a combo of Firestorm and Summon Flame Atronach, and when he'd try to take over my Summons, I'd take them back over with the same spell. It was kind of ridiculous, but it worked.

The spell he uses is command daedra, right? Does that count towards your two pet total if you use it?

What level are you? I wouldn't suggest going after a Dragon Priest until you are in your high 20's - minimum. The one at Shearpoint (is that Morokei?) killed me about 8 times before I just gave up and went back when I was higher. Now, I went back when I was in the mid-40s and the fight wasn't very hard then, so I guess I waited a bit longer than I needed to.

That is the best tactic, imo. Get in close and keep him from using his big magics. Of course, that is a bit hard as he moves around a lot.

That guy was a bit of a nightmare first time I met him. I spent ages hiding behind things, waiting for mana to regen so i could blast him once more with a Lightning Bolt. Took me AAAGES to kill him. Second time round I was a high elf, I popped Highborn and staggered him to death. Fortunately he's not all that aggressive about getting line of sight on you, he's happy to chill out while you regen your mana. Most of the time, you do need to keep an eye on him incase he decides to end the silly little game.

Not done him on a character who wears actual armor yet, such luxury!

Don't forget marked for death. Do not underestimate how easy you can cut someone down after that debuff is stacked a couple times.
