How do level 50+ & 50++ zones work?

Post » Wed Dec 18, 2013 4:52 am

From what I read, level 50+ zone opens once you hit level 50 and you do the quests for a different alliance. Once you finish that, the level 50++ opens up.

My question is, how does this work exactly with my race? It would feel weird running around in black marsh as an altmer doing argonian quests in the middle of an alliance war.

Has this been addressed any?

You are only in other factions with you faction, e.g. if you are EB you will only see EB in DC content

you will not see any other Alliance players there, just run there with your own Alliance only.

Having the same thoughts, it would feel weird.

The only logical thing would be an instanced Ebonheart Pact and Daggerfall Convenant territory (for you als an Altmer) that has been occupied by the Aldmeri Dominion. But that would require vast changes for these territories (quest givers mainly, but maybe also changes in the whole landscape... destroyed buldings, warcamps, maybe also different mob groups...)

Think this would require a big amount of additional work from the devs, but it's the only logical way to do it.

Edit:

Second possibility: You play as an invader of the enemy territories, quest givers would give you orders to disturb/attack enemy settlements and towns

Yea but the NPCS will be DC. Why would an argoninian be in High Rock helping bretons out?

every NPC quest giver will be in its own "race area"

players most likely will have spells and disguises to "work"/explore in the hostile territorys => ie Adventure zones.

So the quests are not the same quests I would experience if I rolled a race of that other alliance?

they can be so so same, but rewards etc are different. Also some aspects of the quests might differ to make it on par with the reward.

remember that the quest initially in the adventure zones are from 1 to 50, in Adventure zones all quests are 50+++ , meaning the rewards and what you need to do prolly with high % of probability are also on par with the lvl 50 reward.

also we can expect to have some new quests in that area that the natives themselves cannot do, as its your alliance specific (these ofc are much less available).

I am hoping that you will be able to switch alliances in the 50+++ areas.

However there hasn't been any comment on this from the devs.

It would be nice after doing all the quests in an opposing faction, you would be invited into that faction.

Its a pipe dream really.

Waiwhahuh?

People in this thread have some confusing terminology >_> Adventure Zones are the raid-like group-based end-game PvE, not the 50+/50++ solo/small-group content.

...Right?

I point and laugh at your hope!

Adventure zones so to speak are the zones where you go when you have completed your own faction area. The whole Adventure zones have way more to offer then just that Mr. Killer.

At Launch we have 12 member "raids" in adventure zones (as far as i have listened to Konkle). But we also have the dungeons and quests of that new adventure zone area. (=> is the hostile factions areas x 2).

As far as i know, we have 200+ hours to play in our own zone, then 200+ hours in next zone and 200+ hours in the last zone, and it gets harder the more we reach the end of those new zones.

The 50+ and 50++ zones are separate from the adventure zones.

Oh yes, you're pretty clear.

I'll leave that information out there for anyone who might be in the slightest bit interested in the actual terminology of the game.

Things are a bit clearer when standardized terminology is used.

i dont know what your problem is, if you have problems with the info i give out, please correct me with private mail and i can change the wording or punctutation or what ever you find wrong in it (if there is something wrong in it).

or better, one option is to make your own thread about terminology, correct english and how to read documents correctly or what ever you like to correct other people in the threads about.

any normal person can read the info i gave and use his or hers brain to understand the info fully.

Thank you.

Or, *possibly*, you could just stop using accepted terminology incorrectly. Any 'normal' person knows that AZs are ESO's endgame dungeons, so it's a bit daft that you expect people to understand you when you use the term to mean something else.

It's not so much the terminology...well specifically in this case yes.

He throws around bad information like he is shoveling in a Kentucky Horse barn....

Aaaaaaanyways. Moving on from melon kitty's eccentricities...

OT, this is probably the one area (besides crafting) that we need info on most. There's certainly a concern over how they'll justify people roaming in opposing territories, but until we get more official info, this will unfortunately remain a mystery.

Yep, Bloodlance is just going to confuse people if he keeps using the word "Adventure Zone" like he is doing. I don't really care if you are using "parenthesis" around the word Blood, it is still confusing to people who don't know the difference between Adventure Zones and 50+(+) content.

Anyways, on topic, 50+(+) content is going to have the EXACT same quests as the alliances already have. They said a long time back when this feature was first released that it'll be explained because we are, "seeing through the enemies eyes." I'm sure they will make up some silly story that they are sending us over to the other factions area disguised as them and that we must complete any task we are told to do, even if it means killing our own people, so we can gain their trust and learn valuable information about them.

On the discussion on what the 50+(+) will be like, Maria Aliprando said that 50+ all the monsters/quests are going to be scaled up to about level 52-53, meaning they are going to be tougher than normal 50 mobs/quests making it a very challenging experience for people who want to do it still solo. It'll be possible to do it solo, but some missions might require some help. Then she talked about the 50++ zones being leveled around 53-54 being really hard for the solo player. It seemed like she was saying this part will require you to group up with another person a lot of the time to be able to complete a lot of quests since the mobs will be a lot harder for you to kill on you own, unless you are a godly character. And since the entire zones are all the same level you can start anywhere in the zones you want and complete quests how you want since the levels will be staying constant, compared to when you leveled in your own zones.

Mmm I was also rather hoping we wouldn't have the same quests as we move to 50+ and 50++, as our enemies have.
I hope they will be somewhat adjusted so it makes sense for us to them.
