How long does it take to get a letter? : V

I've been going around for a while now and I still haven't gotten any letters... How long did it take you guys?

As soon as I completed the quest to become a thane of Falkreath, I fast traveled back to falkreath, and a courier approached me as soon as I ended up at the front door of the longhouse.

I don't know if you need it, but I do know that you need to be a thane of the hold you want the house near.

NOW HERE THIS: YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE THANE. You need to befriend the Jarl. That's it. Do something for the Jarl and they'll let you buy property.

Sorry, did you guys REALLY think that the home-less holds would be different from the others? In all of them you have to be known and respected before you can have a permanent home in the hold.

I know all my Jarls and have done their quests (except for Falkreath because its bugged) and I havent gotten any letters.

Don't wait for the letter. Just go talk to the Jarl. I never got any letter from Dawnstar. I just walked in and told the Jarl I wanted to buy a house.

To buy a house in Falkreath or Morthal, you must talk to the steward. For Dawnstar, you must talk to the Yarl.
