It depends on the enemy. My level 50 character can last for a while. I say around 1-2 hours if I'm looking for enemies. My lowest level character seems to be a 2 minute chump

I usually play on Adept, unless I choose a perk that makes the character OP, then I bump it up one til they seem to be dieing to much then bump it back down. I played one character on master for about 10 lvl's and she held her own, 42 to 52, after that I had to bump it down some. Dieing every 2 minutes is no fun to me, I could go do that on one of my husbands FPS's.

I named her after http://starocean.wikia.com/wiki/Myuria_Tionysus. Because they are both elves that use magic....Oh God. Twilight Sparkle also uses magic. :mage:

I only play on master - so what if you die a few times, it makes success all the more rewarding. I actually like having to turn back out of dungeons because I just don't have enough HP to see me thru or my follower keeps dying.

Some of the best moments are when you just scraqe thru a dungeon having died many times and had to find the right tactic by trial and error.

Just... play? I dunno man. Right now I'm playing as a spellsword necromancer vampire, with the Apprentice stone. Hit em with Vampiric Drain at range, use my war axe up close. Beyond that, I just play.

Does the difficulty level you play on affect how much XP you gain? I seem to remember in a particular Beth game that the higher the difficulty level the more XP you earn.

Sometimes. Mostly I just try to hide behind my undead and let them take the hits. They're sturdy as hell.

I only play on expert or master, more expert then master, as with many enemies I need my Kharjo to assist me in killing. Normal bandits and all are easy kills even on master but a Chief Bandit can instant kill me if my shield isn't blocking.
I can last long on master, it's just retreating a lot especially against Dragon priests, although Death Lord's aren't that difficult to kill as they usually keep targetting just my companion

I know for a fact Armor and Restro raise faster because you're taking more hits and taking more damage.

i made it from level 1 to 47 on my thief character on master difficulty before i retired that character. THieves are WAAAY overpowered, because literally the last 15 levels was waaaay tooo easy on master. With 100 sneak and a decent archery and the dagger perks dual wielding mehrunes razor and the blade of woe, i was literally unstoppable. i mean there were a couple bosses who would 1 hit kill me if i got caught, but 95% of the time i could sneak up on a boss and 1 hit kill him with 30x sneak damage. And every dungeon i could walk through without being caught once, killing everyone on the way, got sort of boring to tell you the truth.
Now a mage is another story, i cant play a mage on master past level 35, it just gets impossible. I got ebony flesh spell giving me 300 armor and i still get 1 hit kill by mid level bandit's arrow. Mages, i gotta switch to adept for.

Only thing that's really tough to me are Frost Necros everyone else can usually be planned out and taken out without problems. Dragons are more of an annoyance just because I like keeping towns folk alive.

Yes and No. Elder scrolls game there is no such thing as 'experience'. You level up by getting so many skills leveled up (for example you get destruction up 10 levels thats a level up). On master difficulty everyone has way more health/defense so they take longer to kill, therefore you have to use more of your skills to beat them (hit them with a 1 handed weapon 20 times instead of 5 times means you got more experience towards 1 handed skill)

I'm doing okay on Master difficulty, though my character is level 52. It gets kind of hairy when encountering harder enemies like Dragon Priests, Elder Dragons or Mudcrabs.

What's your strategy?

Make a save after you've had a difficult encounter, and if the next encouner is even more difficult make a save just before. Then if you die you don't have to go too far back - this goes for all builds and all enemies. Save your level-ups too, they always come in handy.

I have 95 sneak on my thief but I still get caught trying to sneak up on bosses, do these last 5 levels make such a big difference (talking about master lvl).
