How long would YOU last in the world of Skyrim

Post » Tue Dec 04, 2012 12:06 am

Ok I randomly had this thought while reading some random Elder Scrolls fanfiction. Could an average somebody survive (let alone be dragonborn) in Skyrim?

Some starter questions:
Would you even consider it fun?
What would be your skills?
What would hinder you the most severely?
How long would you last?
Would you do anything differently know that you are their personally?
Seeing this fancy new world, would you consider it a highly detailed dream or hallucination?
What would you even do?

Me personally I would probably panic and die. Probably during the opening sequence, Maybe divine intervention would play a key role here, or maybe the groundhog day effect would happen until I stop dying like a noob. To grow up, take charge, and be a man. And maybe have nerves of steel, or learn how to self recover from possible insanity. One of the two probably.

If I arrived the same way the game starts, I would probably cry of fear of being executed, and then, grab either Ralof or Ulfric (or both) and HOLD TIGHT, no way they could convince me to jump out a tower with bound hands and no one to back me up, and I can't fight, so my survival would completely depend on someone protecting me. They would probably hate the insane, clingy woman in strange clothes. :P

Then, I would most likely be part of Alduin's dinner.

If I survived, I would stay in nearest town (Riverwood, if I managed to keep my grip of Ralof), train archery (the only fighting skill I ever tried, and I'm rather good at aiming, so maybe I could be a decent archer with training) and not set foot on the road until I could convince someone to go with me to the nearest city.

If I made it that far alive, I would STAY THERE and try to make a living while figuring out how I could get back to Earth again.

I would probably hate it 90% of the time - the food, the dirt, the lack of modern facilities, the dangers, the cold, being separated from my family and friends.

10% of the time, I would marvel over the fact that I was transported to another world, and how beautiful and interesting that world is.

Still, getting home would be a relief. If I really was stuck, I would probably go completely insane. At least at first.

I would survive because I wouldn't F with flying lizards, wizards or giants. I would fit right in with the madmen of the reach because i'm barbaric and a bit mad myself ;)

Would you even consider it fun?

Skyrim to me is a very harsh place to live, I don't think it would be "fun" so to speak.

What would be your skills?

Bard. Lute mainly as I love to play stringed instruments.

What would hinder you the most severely?

My laziness and love of narcotics.

How long would you last?

Who knows, depends on a whole bunch of decisions. I would most likely become a Skooma addict.

Would you do anything differently know that you are their personally?

Yes. I wouldn't streal nor commit murder and I definately wouldn't go venturing into caves and the wilderness.

Seeing this fancy new world, would you consider it a highly detailed dream or hallucination?

Hallucinaion. See; Skooma addict.

What would you even do?

Drink skooma and play my music. Try to avoid guards.

Would you even consider it fun? yes I would actually, the possibilities are endless
What would be your skills? hand to hand (martial arts), sword fighting and bartering...I would try to train in archery, magic isn't an option as I'm not magical now.
What would hinder you the most severely? bears everywhere and dragons randomly attacking
How long would you last? i'd bet longer then the average "gamer" as I'm a fighter in decent shape and know how to survive in hard times with little food
Would you do anything differently know that you are their personally? I wouldn't run around reckless like I have extra lives or can reload saves
Seeing this fancy new world, would you consider it a highly detailed dream or hallucination? we're assuming it's real in this scenario so at first I would think it would be another 1 of my vivid dreams where I'm fighting with ancient weapons until I see something fantasy like dragons then I would realize it's not one of my normal dreams
What would you even do? I would try to befriend the forsworn and then try to rally them under my rule, overthrow the weak king madanach and reclaim the reach with thousands of forsworn while the stormcloaks and imperials are busy killing each other. By the time their war is settled I would be too fortified within the walls of markarth for either side to do anything about it.
