How do I make contact with the gun runners? : Fallout: New Vegas

I need to give the note to a gun runner from the ncr bloke at camp mccarran but i cant get in there any tips?

Don't you have to give the note to Isaac? If so, he usually hangs out by the repair bench(or whatever type it was) next to the vendor.

His name is Isaac, he's usually the front man at their HQ by Westside. He wants 100 scrap metal, which is pointless, and takes away from your potential supply of weapon repair kits.

If he's not outside the store (he never seemed to be for me) stand right in front of the store, make a 90 degree turn to your right and just keep walking til you find his house, it's a good ways out but it's there, right behind some other person's house.

So if you don't see two houses, one of them being Isaac's you're going the wrong direction.

He Usually hangs around outside the Gun Runners. The one time he wasn't there was when i had to deliver the same message. I looked around and found him in his home further down the road to deliver the message. To get the maximum effect of the conversation you need a speech level of at least 80.

He doesn't need scrap metal, supposedly. He accepts tin cans, too.

He will also accept multiple metal items e.g. Irons, toasters, metal cooking pans and pots. Trial and error will identify the things he takes.

It's far from pointless as you can just give him tin cans, all of which can be found at the Aerotech Office area, which then leads you to getting one of the best guns in the game by a long shot.

theres a speech check...repair i think, that does away with any scrap collecting, and finishes the quest there and then

Take off your armour and run like a crazy zombie. Following the fence to the north ish and then cutting to the base fence helps to, it's what i do. You may need a few tries to get it down though....
