How many character slots should we get?

Post » Sun May 05, 2013 8:23 am

I am not a huge alt player, but I do need a few character slots, because I play in different groups with RL friends.

1) for me

2) for my 2 person group with RL friend.

3) for my 3 man group with RL friends.

4) One for my guild.

So, I would like 4 or 5 over all.

How many do you want?

How many do you think we will get?

edit: not sure how to answer question 2. if its a sub game i think we get ten if not we get 3 max

Anything over the 5 I voted for you would have to pay extra if the game is not P2P. Hopefully it will be B2P.

5 would satisfy my needs

while from Zenimax I expect nothing else than giving us 2 slots + further slots for $ 8~10 each

I don't think I have ever seen a game where you can have 10 characters on a server before.

Any one character can be everything. This is pretty new, at least to me. I would think we would not need that many character slots. I would want at least 3 so I can play one of each faction. My guess is 6.

i am positive on at least 3 slots even if it was f2p. they will for sure give us 1 for each faction. i really hope we have enough slots for us altoholics who will make 1 of each race eventually

I've played MMOs sense 95'. I can not think on one that gave 10 on the same server. I have seen a few that let you play all the classes or races, but there were not 10. If you can think of one, let me know. I have played most of them, but my memory is not what it used to be.

I am hoping for no less than 10 slots. Though even 10 is not enough for me to be honest.

Funny thing is I played an MMO where everyone only got one character slot. It was fantastic. Everyone behaved themselves. There were only 500 people per server. You really got to know each other. It was pretty cool. Sadly, that would never fly in today's MMOs.

yes your right. its true tho that i love having alts for extra inventory slots or to use as a salesmen or maybe just RP purposes .. but to be honest if we just all get one character we really would be better in how we treat others because we would gain reputations ..

and i know my opinion is not popular but thanx for agreeing with me...

im sure we will probly get about 3 allowable or more which is standard and kinda typical

WoW, Age of Conan, Warhammer online. the first one has 11 character slots currently. The last two I'm not entirely positive, but I think there were 10 with subscription as well.

Was going to say, WoW definitely allows around 10.

But as to the poll; I can't answer it. It depends entirely on the form the payment system takes..

If it is buy+sub, it better be 9 or 10.

Buy + shop, 3-5 would be nice. Less than 3 would be suboptimal at any stage.

This isn't your normal MMO with separate servers and what-not. Since they are only using the Megaserver they will need to allow a lot of alts in the game. Now this is just assuming they are going with the p2p model. I don't think they can do anything less than 10 slots minimum.

I played EQ, Wow, AoC, and DAoC. I did not remember them having that many. Well, it has been a few years.

i have no clue about eq as i only made the one character but i know wow launched with the ability to make 10 per server and 50 overall. back then you also could not have horde and alliance on the same server which was the right thing to do imo. once they removed that restriction i enjoyed pvp far less

this is certainly a hot topic .. guild leaders usually prefer you have 1 loyal character and be yourself .. but this isnt really reality as we all know that alts are just a part of reality just as much as spies exist and things like that. it cant be stoped .. its hard to find honesty in who people really are with sooo many sock accounts and allowed .. is just a game ...

I expect at least 3 free slots, with the ability to unlock additional ones up to at least 10.

The reason for this is to let players experience all 3 factions, and keep their progression saved. Having a hard cap along 10-20 is quite common.

I'm an altaholic, totally in love with leveling. So more character slots is always better. Though I don't mind paying to unlock them past 5.
