How many controller users in pc version are there?

Post » Sun May 08, 2011 8:57 am

Due to an overwhelming response regarding auto-aim from the PC demo, the decision was made to remove support for auto-aim... bla bla bla
So, there's the question - are you playing on K+M, contoller or do you like to alternate both?

I had pretty much fun in demo with controller, but aim assist may be was too assistant. it would be better to help pointing the target at start of aiming, but not continuing following it later

I like to play at 1920x1080p on my 32" HDTV, I need the controller for that to work as the image is upscaled - but this is only for Single Player.

Sitting back with a 32"+TV = win. Looks much better.

Agree. Advice: lock fps on 30(sys_maxFPS=30 in autoexec.cfg)

made my day. xD

No, seriously, you can play with what you want, I don't care, and billions of other people also don't care.
It's just funny, that many people like to play with controllers, cuz imho they are useless without aim assist.

Now, back to topic ^^':

I'm using K+M.
Never tried to play a shooter with a controller, but for games like DMC a controller is better.

Btw: you could make a poll out of this topic.

So far 82% K&M, considering users of such are less likely to enter this thread due to the poorly thought out title, "How many controller users in there?" which suggests that this thread is purely for control users, the number would likely be higher again.

Time to admit the majority are correct on this subect.

Actually, i have absolutely different story: i svck with controller(never played on console), but i keep playing with it. gamepad is more comfortable(not aiming, of course) because game was made for gamepads and then ported to pc

Time to admit the majority are correct on this subect.
I know. It's obvious. All i want to know is K+M\gamepad ratio.

It makes perfect sense. This game originally made for gamepads and then ported to pc

Probably one of the weakest and uninformed arguments that I can't believe people are still spouting. It was developed with controllers in mind, not exclusively for controllers. The game still plays well with the keyboard+mouse combo.

I alternate between Keyboard+Mouse with a Controller, if only to get a feel for one or the other.

I'm playing with K+M, but i've thought about switching to my logitech controller and outputing video to my hdtv for grins. Interesting to see how everyone plays, but I'd imagine you would get some unique responses in the Xbox or PS3 forum with this poll. :)

Keyboard and mouse for FPS, strategy's...well the majority of genres tbh
Generic Gamepad for Racing games - i find that the 360 controller is a pile of wank and never fuking works when i want it too.

HAWXS 2 i use a controller for as well, piloting is far more effective using a gamepad then trying to use a keyboard.

like i said, majority is keyboard and mouse, there are "some" titles that best suit the anolog sticks, sure.

I use both, whatever is best for the situation. Decent games tend to accommodate for that (GTA IV?) and allow me to swap on the fly including on-screen messages. There is NOTHING wrong with using a controller when the type of game fits the input type.
