How many cores does my computer have?

I am trying to figure out how many cores my new laptop has. On my older Mac when I went to settings and About computer it would say my Mac was a quad core. Now on my new laptop it doesn't tell me how many cores it has. It says Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60Ghz 2.60GHz.

Why does it say CPU @ 2.60GHz twice? Also what does ® and ™ mean? Registered and trade mark?

Now I went to device manager and looked at processor there. Now when I click on the arrow it comes down and it says Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.6GHz eight times. One under the other eight times. So does this mean I have 8 processors?

So I am confused. Can someone please help me and explain so I can understand better.
