This is always something that I've tried to keep realistic in past Fallout games. I've always found it interesting to calculate the average amount of sleep my character gets in one day. I know it doesn't matter, but personally I feel more satisfied if my character in running on a decent amount of sleep.
I find it a lot more difficult in this game to maintain a reasonable amount of sleep in one day. With so much fast travelling going on - whether it be from settlement to settlement, or just your typical buying and selling - the days add up. I believe it takes about 6 hours to travel from Sanctuary Hills to Diamond City.
Anyways, my character averages about 5.2 hours of sleep per day - 485 hours through 93 days. It's been slowing declining, as it was around 5.7. Ideally, I would like to have it around 7, but currently my goal is 6. I figure in an apocalyptic, wasteland environment, sleep isn't something you'll be getting a lot of anyways.
So how many hours of sleep per day does you character average? Does anybody else also find it difficult to maintain a certain number of hours? One thing that definitely has impacted my character's sleep - and I can almost guarantee that I'd be averaging around 6 hours if it wasn't because of it - is the fact that you can fail settlement missions. When that first happened, I had to load earlier saves, and since then I've been unhappily sleeping less on purpose in fear of failing the perpetually active Minutemen quests.
