How many hours/week do you put in to Crysis 2 MP

Post » Sun Aug 08, 2010 6:55 pm

I have been a casual console gamer for the past 3 years and am just now starting to be good enough to enjoy MP. This is the third game I have purchased that MP is the primary reason for play.

In other games I was able to be somewhere in the middle for level every match, and always in the top 3 for XP gain and kills. Here I find that I am lagging way behind. I didn't want to only play in the beginner mode that limits you to level 10 players [too proud I guess] but it looks like I may have to until I get leveled up enough to unlock the modules needed to be competative.

I have found that others are leveled up quicker in this game than in others and was curious why. I feel like it is taking so long for me to catch up. I know I'm going to get the usual "noob!" and "it's because you svck" comments I have seen on other game forums, but I am actually more interested in real help with XP gain tips. Please start out by listing your rank and time per week you put into Crysis 2 MP.

I'm level 44, and maxed out my suit abilities at Lv.30 (did it by using a little bit of every suit power in a match). Try not to depend on the ArmorMode/EnergyTransfer, StealthEnhance, MobilityEnhance modules to much because they give you a major clutch, and when you want to upgrade other modules you will feel weak. The other modules work wonders too and it all depends on your style of play. Play crash site go for the dropped pods(they give you points), and get kills, you will get alot of exp. Points. Almost every match of crash site I play I get MVP, because I play for objective not just for kills, that's reserved for team instant action. Oh and don't be discouraged if your KDR is $#!+. You will get better and go positive. Just have dedication and you will start feeling like a pro. I did terrible in the beginning but got real good because I started playing this game religiously. I also don't play like a cheapskate, that means I don't cloak camp, run around the map stealth meleeing people, etc. People with KDR more then 3.0 are cheap players and have no skill. Don't be one of those because down the road you will get your ass handed to you by people who use all the weapons, abilities, powers. Wright now I'm using the K-volt(which alot of people think it svcks) and owning anyone that comes face to face with me, even those cloakers. And sometime getting triple kills with it. So if you see someone using that gun with Majestic and a flash bang, watch out!!! Will not say which module's I'm using because I don't want anyone copying my style. Had that happen to me already while I was playing a match. Was using grendal owning when know one on the enemy team was using it. Next match practically almost the whole team was using my set-up with the same modules...

Not sure about how others do but i only use things that have an uncomplete assessment tied to them. When i get a module to rank 3, i change. When an attachment is rank 3, i change, when a game-mode is 100% complete, i change and so on. This works pretty well for me i think.
Currently rank 48 or so and right now i only have time to play like 3 hours a week or so (but i did rather massive gaming when the game was released)

i play a lot. like a day's worth of game time in a week LOL
i would be ranked #3rd in wins and top 100 in everything else, BUT i got my stats reset (just like everyone else) for no reason at all.

if youre getting good a good K/D and want MORE XP
then you should be going for challenge bonuses as well.
like the assessments and stuff. thats where the XP is at. different guns = different challenges.
be versitile but focus on one thing at a time. or else youll get discouraged

This has been said already, but I've found the best way to rake in XP is to pay attention to your skill assessments and use attachments accordingly, and to play Crash Site.

And screw having a high KDR, that just means you only play deathmatch and/or you don't do the objectives properly. If you play Crash Site a lot, you'll die a lot. Just means you're actually playing the objective.

I'm level 45 and play about 12 hours per week, when psn isn't down. This is the first fps I have played since the original Halo and I got "worked" a lot in the beginning and still do from time to time. I don't have a great KDR, but I always go looking for a fight and never camp. I use two maxed modules to aid me in maxing a third module and then start another. I pay close attention to skill assessments as these net a lot of xp. I also play instant action as you can kill everyone.

Yeah, figured I'd finish the campaign as well.

Ha. I'm playing through it for like the fifth time now. There's literally nothing left to do, I've got all the collectibles and every single SP-related trophy, but... still fun.
