1. I have notifications for status updates disabled

2. I generally try to get to new PMs as soon as I have a free moment, so they don't last very long (when you click on it, the number resets)

I had like 7 during finals week, though. and prune my inbox fairly regularly, since it's limited to just 100 messages.

I have none that are unread. Total, Including notifications for pm's, I have 6 pages worth. At 50 per page (I think)...I need to clean this mess up. Some of them date back to May 2011.

Go to your profile, edit profile then click the "Notification Options" on the left. Set what you want to receive.

I always thought that was for warnings and rule related stuff. The bell image makes it seem more like it was. I have the notifications turned off for most every option. It does have a warnings notification option, so I guess I was half correct.

+1 to notifications for each of you. I couldn't be clever and quote everyone who has it enabled due to forum limitations.

Also, I have 3 pages. Not bad considering I've only been "back" for a month or so.

I've never had any. I use email notification for those. The only thing that shows up there for me are PMs, and I think the biggest backlog I ever had was 3.
