How many playthroughs is Dishonored worth?

Post » Mon Oct 22, 2012 4:44 pm

I just beat the game for the first time and was simply curious as to how many playthroughs everyone here has done/is planning of doing?

I'm thinking I'll do three or four (I'm just on my second, taking my time), take a 2+ month break, then repeat until it gets boring.

I finished my first and didn't kill anyone. Tempted to playthrough as a complete maniac and just kill everyone, though isn't that rather hard? Don't know, or might just play it again for some alternate routes of doing things.

Actually, I find stealth / non-lethal to be harder of the two. I don't think I could ever play as a complete maniac, but it's nice to be able to
be lethal finally :D

2 right when you get it for both a high and low chaos ending, then in a while when you feel like coming back to the game playing it again. So id say 3-4. 5+ if its the game of your dreams tho.

I'd say 3 at best. One to get to know the gameplay, arsenal, powers, abilities, etc, using any and all weapons. One to go for hardest challenge with weapons, and one to go for non lethal. I suppose a 4th if you really wanted to limit your powers, abilities and weapons via sword only, or a speedrun maybe, but there's not enough to this game to really make more than 3-4 play throughs fun.

I'm one of those people who will go back to a game every couple years or so. My opinion though is it has solid replay value and I've already played it twice.

Conservative guestimate? 3 or so. I am on my second.
If you are on your first playthrough do not click this spoiler.

So satisfying to just shoot Admiral Hatchet and Pendleton upon first contact with them. Even if it means game over.

Also, being a maniac on the hardest difficulty is brutal fun. Breaking stealth is a big risk.

Depends when you play it, 3 playthroughs is probably all you would play before getting bored, but you could always play it every two months, or when a dlc comes out.

I have no problem playing games I love multiple times and I love Dishonored. I spread it out though. I just finished my first playthrough of DisH and then had a new character I wanted to take to Skyrim so when I'm done with that, I'll be so ready for DisH again. I can see doing that many, many times....just going from game to game with the ones I love. I still play Oblivion and FO3 and FNV too. When I'm away from them for a while, I just have a great experience playing again. It was funny yesterday that playing in Tamriel after leaving Dunwall, I wanted to Blink really bad and deal with enemies by knocking them out, ha. :)

I got two plays out of it, one dirty, one clean. I tried to get a third, but after 100% the first level in like 20 minutes, I threw in the towel. The problem, for me, is that there's nothing really new there, not new enough or different enough to make a third run through more than just a repeat performance, in some variation, of either of the last two.

I recommend playing for the first time without any objective hints and such.
You can turn these things off in the interface menu.

IMO it's worth 2 or 3.

1st Playthrough: Play regular. Don't worry about chaos level, stealth or kills. This is pretty much a plythrough so you can learn the levels.

2nd Playthrough (doing this now): No detections, no killing.

3rd Playthrough: No detections, no killing, no powers.

This game has been great. Just imagine what they could do with the power of the PS4, with Dishonored 2.
