how many of you are going to wait?

i am just curious how many of you will wait until all three of the DLC are out before you start playing them... for me, i just cant bring myself to play them out of order, despite how... BADLY... i want to play dragonborn.

dawnguard has the dragonbone weapons, and so many other things i want to go into dragonborn with, besides that, it'll be perfect for preparing my character for solstheim.

now, i am going to buy the DLC as they are released, of course... but im trying to hold off on downloading/installing them until i can get them all.

was kinda hoping to go through dawnguard, get new gear and more power, new summons, etc... maybe build a house with hearthfire, adopt some kids, settle down... then be called away to save the world from the ancient dovahkiin.

It just so happens that I will be playing the 3 dlcs back to back, but that's because I don't have them yet and I want to wrap up everything in vanilla Skyrim first before I download the new stuff.

I'm waiting until Valentines day to buy Dragonborn for my PS3.

Not only is it a good way to avoid thinking about my single-status, but it also gives plenty of time to see if any performance issues crop up. Also I'm still on the road to Riften, and want to vendor a TON of crap I've had saved up to clear out storage.

i am pretty much done with vanilla skyrim, with my dunmer, anyway... by no means am i done with skyrim as a whole, i just did everything i can think of doing for my dunmer at the moment... i wanna continue his adventures with the DLC, but i need to do so in the proper order.

...i suppose i could play dragonborn with another character, and just wander around solstheim without getting involved in any of the quests... or, atleast not the main quest.

though, wouldnt things go wrong in morrowind if ya installed the expansions in the wrong order? im not sure, cause i never tried it... if so, i wonder if that could happen with skyrim's... thats another thing keeping me from trying dragonborn first.

It's not that they're out of order chronologically, but rather that they're out of release order. There is no lore reason to not play Dragonborn first, unless you're RPing vampire / hunter or something. I completed Dawnguard before I did the vanilla main quest. The only thing that'll matter is whether you've done the vanilla main quest before doing Dragonborn's main quest, and even then only for subtle differences.

since they released dawnguard first, i like to think lore-wise, those events happened first.

thats like saying tribunal would be fine to do first before morrowind's main quest... while there arent any consequences, it kinda seems weird, since you're regarded as the nerevarine and an unstoppable hero before you even changed out of your prison clothes.
