Mine Ebony ore, make weapons/armor, then sell it

It gets your smithing up (so you can make better items like daedric and dragon) and it gets you ALOT of gold!

Go to Kolskeggr Mine, there's alot of gold ore there which you can make jewelry then sell it for gold. Though there are some forsworn in it which you have to clear out.

I think that the cost to fully upgrade a house is about 30,000 septims. But a lot of the materials can be found instead of bought.

Depending on your type of character....

Either follow smithing as they said above, steal things, enchant things, or go adventuring and sell all your loot :)

I haven't seen a solid maximum figure, different people have different theories. Since most of my characters are heavy-duty alchemizers, I don't worry about it too much. If I need the money, I can produce it.

Yes! Between alchemy and smithing, you can make it.
