They usually send them out when they are running a weekend test. The Beta isn't constantly running, that won't occur till later in the cycle, possibly not even till open beta.

And by calling it lame, you've automatically disqualified yourself from ever being invited........probably (jk)

They send invites whenever it is needed.

I also woundnt expect any activity beta invites or otherwise until after the holidays

agreed. at this point i would not expect much activity until the new year at which point we can probably expect it to start ramping up as we get closer to launch.

Why can't they send out more invites? There's probably just 2k people playing during those "weekends" ...

game will release at march right..? so open beta will be at january/february.... what kind of stress testing is this ?

Game will release in Spring 2014. That's late March - late June. Expect open beta to be immediately prior to launch. As in open beta for a week or two then servers wiped (probably) and launched.

most people want to play the beta anyway. very few have intentions of actually testing it.

You would think bethesda has lots of money to do more invites than once every 4 months.

Has it occured to you that maybe they want to actually get the game tested rather than just use beta as a marketing tool?

It servers and the game go up, it gets tested (Not played, tested), it all comes down again after the weekend, Zenimax looks over the reports and feedback and makes changes/fixes issues etc. That's how a beta works.

It's not one of these 'Pre-order the game and geta a beta test pass to help test the game' gimmicks (By the time those happen the game is already finished)

edit: The waves and tests have also been a lot more regualr than every four months. They only reason we find out about them is when invites go out. Seems they may not always send out new invites for each test, but just pick from the pool of previous testers.

I've argued this till the cows came home . The general thinking was march was end of spring . Financial quarters run different june will mark the end . We are definately not going to see a march release beta would be running much more often and the last 90 days would mark frequent open beta weekends. Based on the evidence and prior beta experience march release is a hallucination .

Bethesda has never sent invites. zenimax the actual makers of eso however I believe have sent around 5 rounds of beta invites I think thus far.

Can't be any worse than the guy who posted a week or so back and wanted info about the collectors edition since Spring was only four weeks away. Apparently for him, Spring began at the end of december.
