How to sell Arcade into Slavery?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 6:46 am

I completed the quest Et Tumor Brute but I did not get the speech option to sell Arcade as Caesar's personal doctor. How do I do this and when is this dialog option set to appear? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Old thread, but I'm going to bump it up since I'm having the exact same problem and nobody replied here. I would really be grateful for any advice.

When I have the 'private conversation' with Caesar in his tent he tells me to get the stuff (Doctor's Bag, Surgical Tools) to perform surgery. I can also ask about the Auto-Doc, and he'll give me the location of a Vault and give me the option of repairing the Auto-Doc to treat him. However, when I recruit Arcade and go back to his tent, Caesar is still sitting on his throne, and he will not allow Arcade to perform surgery.

When I enter his tent after I get the Doctor's Bag and Surgical Tools, Caesar is in a coma and Lucius approaches me, allowing me to perform surgery on Caesar myself. Though even in this case, Lucius does not give me any speech options about Arcade. I have Arcade waiting outside the tent, but Lucius doesn't mention him nor can I bring it up myself.

Advice, anyone?

Selling Arcade into slavery is one of the three ways to complete the quest, as I recall you talk to Lucas in order to sell Arcade into slavery, possibly before Ceaser falls into his coma.

You have to sell him to Caesar, when you're discussing possible methods of treatment with Caesar.

Ah, so you have to have Arcade waiting outside before Caesar even asks you to perform surgery?

I'll try that. Thanks!

Edit: I can now confirm it indeed works. You have to already have Arcade recruited when "Et Tumor, Brute?" begins. Caesar will ask you to perform surgery, and during that conversation you can tell him that Arcade is a qualified doctor and I waiting just outside the tent.
