How do I smelt down Dwemer Artifacts? : V

Cant see option to do this on the smelter, want to turn them into armour. Currently 37ish smithing, any ideas?

Uh, read the smelting recipes: you get Dwarven Metal from Dwemer plates, not from Dwemer artifacts.

It's like you're trying to smelt an iron shovel into an iron ingot. That may work IRL, but in Skyrim you need iron ore.

Do you have Dwarven smithing unlocked? If you don't you can't. I don't think you can smelt dwemer "artifacts." But I think you can smelt the dwemer scaps and things.

You can smelt dwemer struts, solid metal, and plate metal without any smithing perks or anything special.

Thank you guys, when I said artifacts, i meant the scrap metals etc

Got 75 ignots of the stuff now

Is there anything I can do with the rest of the stuff, like the gears etc? Or are they just quest items and sellables?
