I cannot find out for the life of me how to smith ore into ingots. Anyone know?

There are different smithing intractable objects and for the life of me I can't recall what the thing you need is called. Go to the first large town, its a big black chimney of sorts.

you need to find the "smelting", if you have the manual you can find a picture there, if you don't have it:

It's a Smelter you're looking for, I had trouble with this myself, there should be one by the Blacksmith Forge.

There's one in White Run outside of Warmaidens.
