How to do the finishing move? : V

I'm trying to kill this person whos sleeping but everytime i click the melee button (crouched), it doesnt play out the animation. I am in need of help

i dunno if you can kill anybody asleep but i know that you can do finishing moves by timing one of the bandits swing.

I've devoted my whole characters career to stealth kills and i'll tell you, the only time i've done it is to a standing enemy. All you can do is sneak attack the sitting/sleepings.

i dont even know how to activate the kill cam thing

I think they happen randomly, when enemies health is low enough. Don't know about stealth finishers though.

You don't 'activate' it per 'se. It happens when theres a high chance of death (near as I've been able to tell) I nearly always get the throat slit animation, but my stealth is also nearly 100 atm.

I get the death animation more often when I only power attack with my main hand weapon. Almost never when I power attack with both weapons. I also have the 15x multipler ( i have no clue if that factors in somehow )

it helps also if your sneak perk/ the one that has do 6x damage on sneak attacks or something. I don't remember it exactly. Look at your perks though, My Sneak is 50, I think I need 60 to do instant kill on sneak.

I've slit the throats of a few bandits, but I cannot do it all the time. I know it must be a 1-shot kill.

I'm thinking you have to be really close to the bandit, but I cannot confirm this.

It depends on your level, their level, their health, what stance are you in and if they detected you, see you or fleeing.

It's random, I believe it only plays when you oneshot your target (the animation is just fluff, it doesn't imply a bonus). I have got a seated throat slit animation once.

Also, your sneak skill doesn't matter except for obviously requiring you to sneak up undetected. I got lots of "stealth kill" animations right from the start.

Yeah we know animations don't have bonus, but they are really cool. They would be even better if they follow the witcher's close up combo moves from the combat tree.
