I don't believe you can. I know Fort Dawnguard upgrades itself as you play through the story, as in more things appear, a forge and workbench appear near the smelter, etc. But I've gotten to the end and there's still a fair few cobwebs around.

In the VL questline, you get the option of restoring the courtyard... but I don't believe there is more than that.

Todd sorta lied a bit, sure the fort upgrades over time during the quest, but thats it. I thought he ment you put money into it for upgrades.

Yep, Todd lied. The Fort upgrades itself. It retains the cobwebs and scattered junk. You have no say in what it looks like.

The fact that Todd said you can upgrade your "Forts" made me believe that there was more than one and you can do some pretty cool stuff with them. Why would they lie about this? I could understand them cutting this but they announced this a week before Beta testing. Im tired of the lies and trickery! *shakes fist at the sky*

It may have been content that they cut.

And when he said forts he obviously meant the vampire castle.
