How will Sub work for console version?

Post » Fri Aug 23, 2013 3:56 am

What I am asking specifically is will we sub through PSN or Xbox Live, or will it work similarly to how I imagine the PC version will be and sub through the game's website? I guess I am just curious as to whether or not Sony and Microsoft are getting a slice of the subscription money for their platforms' versions.

Same as it has for every other MMO on a console ever, I assume.

You buy the game, download it/pop the disc in, create your account through the game client/website. The account will bill your credit card, paypal, time card or whatever same as any other purchase each month. Easy-peasy.

ZOS came out today stating that they are talking with Sony/Microsoft about letting people not pay the $5 service charge on top of the $15 ZOS is charging people to play this game. If it doesn't go through, then you will be paying $20. Sony/Microsoft DO NOT get any slice of the money. They get their money by making you pay $5 to use their online services. ZOS isn't making any profit from that $5 either.

Regardless, most people are going to be paying that $20 anyways because ESO isn't going to be the only online game they will be playing on their Xbox or Playstation.

If MS/Sony are getting a slice of the subscription action, I can't imagine it being all that much--All their networks do is connect you to the ESO servers.

You'll pay even more, that's how it will work.

It's not ZOS's fault, blame Microsoft/Sony for charging you to use their online services.

Oh, and BTW, ZOS has said they are trying to broker a deal with them to take away the $5 charge on ESO. Might want to thank them for talking with the devil.

step 1: give them your credit card

step 2: they charge your credit card

step 3: there is no step 3

Okay.

You might want to change your sig though. Bragging about an epic fail is sort of pointless.

So is constantly repeating the same thing over and over. Its edging towards spam. People get it; you believe the game is going to fail. You don't have to repost it every few minutes.

Outside of Destiny, they aren't competing with any of those other games. Why would an MMO want to compete against a FPS? MMOs want to attract the MMO crowd, not the eSport crowd. Two different genres.

Depends on how many people want to play those games, and how many want to play ESO.

Titanfall, cod, battlefield anynumber, watchdogs, halo, mgs whatevernumber, Destiny and Deadrising whatever could fall off the face of the planet, and I'd never know. I have no interest at all in those games, and most of them I probably wouldn't bother with even if I got them for free.

Not everyone enjoys the same types of games.

I have heard of one of those games, and Halo is boring as [censored].

Which of those will provide me with years and years of significant play?

So you are better of just paying for Plus/Gold

$50 for a year of Plus vs $60 for a year of service fees
