How will this hotbar thing work for consoles?

Controllers don't have number pads.

I guess it won't work at all? There are hotkeys on Skyrim in the PC version that aren't there on the console versions.

Just me guessing though, I never played a MMO on the consoles.

I imagine you will hold down one of the controller triggers and the skills assigned to your triangle button etc. will change. Just my two cents.

So as to not cause confusion, I should clarify the triggers will probably be used for blocking and attacking so the r1 or r2 buttons are more likely to be used for something like that.

For xb1 I'd imagine something like this

XABY RB LB will be you six skills.

RT LT will be your block and attack

This leaves your 2 joy stick buttons, start, and your d pad. On the controller.

BUT, and dear god do I PRAY this happens. We have the kinect. Voice commands. Holy eff would that be sick!!

"loadout" switching your loadout
"health" healing potion
"mana" mana potion
"twerk" character twerk emote

Oh man I hope they do this >.<

I have to agree voice commands would be pretty sweet. Not sure if it would happen though. Might be considered an unfair advantage.

Aaaahhhh but you've missed something. Xb1 only plays with xb1, and all xb1 come with a kinect.

To not use it would be a handicap of your own choice.

Well that settles that then. :) Not being an XB user I wasn't aware of that. I'm a future ps4 owner and that's what I'll be playing ESO on.

Here's hoping you get it then.

Modern console controllers will have more than enough buttons. Just counting clickables on a console controller you get about 14. So that more than covers the 6 action bars.

Agreed, there are 14, however combat functions would need to be as accessible as possible. Thus, I would suggest clicking left and right thumbsticks for attack and block, 4 shoulder buttons for most of your hotbar slots, and throw the last 2 on the face buttons somewhere. Not ideal, as you'd have to take your thumb off moving or aiming to use those 2, but it's the best you could get without mouse and keyboard.
