how do you add background music to NV?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 12:27 am

not sure where to put this and yeah i have the pc version of nv.

my question is how do you add custom music tracks to nv background music (NOT the pipboy radio)? its not like FO3 where you drop a music track in the folder of the situation you wanted it for (like battle or exploring).

All you do is plop your MP3's into the data/music/explore, music/battle or whatever folders. Easy.

It gets a bit more complicated to work it out.
You have no other choice but to use the GECK to do it, unless you want to replace the current songs.

When you open the GECK, look under the Audio tab, in the Object window. From what I understand, each song is registered there and associated with a specific musical category. (Battle Good, Battle Evil, etc.)
You must also specify an intro or outro music, but that will always play odd as the intro/outro have been designed for the game's soundtrack.

In a way, it's a bit more complicated, but it allows the user to add his mp3s to specific location types or specific battles. Which is very interesting.

Good luck!

well that means its time to play with the geck. im surprised no one has made a esp file for this where you just name you music tracks to the ones the esp file wants to look for in terms of names. for example a esp for adding custom music would have support for up to X number of tracks for each catagory and all the person would do is add the tracks to the folder and name them something like battle track 1 and battle track 2 for battle and something similar for other catagories.
