I have five perk points that I just can't assign. I know it will be easy once I learn how, but for now, I'm stumped. I've looked and clicked on everything I can think of.. but nothing happens.

My sneak is at 23 and the first option will take 5 points to fill and is white. There is nothing saying that I need anything to qualify . There just isn't anything for me to click.

Please, someone, help..

When I've leveled up, I've assigned my health/stamina points, then onto the perks. I've clicked on the stars and seen the future abilities etc. It is just that at no point have I seen where it would allow me to assign points to any thing. Seems my skills have to be at a certain level but I don't have any idea what level that has to be... but thanks

Scroll over the perk. It tells you, in bright white text at the bottom of the screen, what level of skill you're at and what level of skill the perk requires.

That makes sense. If you, (for example) did a bunch of alchemy, then you may only be able to grab perks in the alchemy tree. If a star is white you can grab it. If the star is orange then you cannot grab it yet.

Update

I clicked through to further abilities on the same tree and saw where it says what level I am and what level I need to be to be able to use that skill, so I am assuming that I am qualified to assign points to the earlier skill. Yet.. I still have no way to assign points to a skill. I'm still stuck
