How do you build play your spellswords? Do you find the dest : V

Topic. Just curious. It seems like a very fun build, but one I have never been able to put together properly.

Hotkey sword and shield. Cast Flesh Spell over armor and charge. If you start getting whupped use Fast Healing. Use Destruction as you would Archery on a regular Warrior. When you get Destruction to Adept start casting Cloak (I like Lightning Cloak for all purpose) along with Flesh spell before charging in.

Destruction is a pain to level but is worth it later on. If you don't mind grinding it out a little get a tanky follower and stay at ranged combat to get that Destruction up.

That's been my concern, and the reason I have never played this build - even though I REALLY want to. I always resort to bows for ranged since they seem more reliable to me. I am looking for a reason to try a spellsword though.

I play on Master and gimp my self. I can safely say that it depends how you use it. I'm not doing any smithing and I won't start enchanting for another 30 levels or so, that little extra kick from Destruction is worth it. Now if you don't want to use Destruction you could try using the "Weapons Branch" of Conjuration or Illusion for real time crowd control. It's really up to you.

I went 1 magicka:1 health:1 stamina. After I got stamina to 200 I'll went 1:1 health and magicka until magicka's at 300. Then I'll go just health. I reccomend you don't do this unless you want to challenge yourself early on. And yeah it's pretty awesome. Just wait until you get a kill cam on an Elder dragon with Fire Cloak active.

Thanks for the advice. What do you mean by "weapon branch"? You're talking to someone who has dabbled with a few character types, but really only able to keep a warrior going in Skyrim for some reason. I loved a spellsword in Oblivion, and in Morrowind I kind of used everything.

Mystic Binding, Soul Stealer, and Oblivion Binding. Throw in Novice/Apprentice Conjuration for decrease in spell cost.
