How do you craft dwarven bolts specifically? I know the recipe is 1 firewood and 1 dwarven ingot, but I can't craft them at any forge. Does it have to be the Dawnguard Forge? The wiki hints that it may be quest-related (Dawnguard-side only--and I sided with the vampires). So is it impossible for me (being allied with the vampires) to make them?
Also I was wondering if you can craft dwarven crossbows or if it's possible to loot them from anything...such as Dawnguard or perhaps dwarven ballistae?

I was thinking of sneaking into Fort Dawnguard and looting the place for any bolts that might be lying around, and maybe using my vampire six beam on their blacksmith to see if I can't somehow convince her to teach me how to make them...or at least buy some off her. Somebody feel free to talk me out of it if you have a better idea.

You can only craft them after doing some quests for Sorine Geraurd. Therefore those that sided with the vampires cannot craft them.


Dwarven Spheres carry between 7-10 dwarven bolts. So one way to get them is to go to a dwarven ruin and kill a bunch of Spheres. Or you could use your vampire magnetism to buy some, I suppose.
