Use any other type of conjuration, like bound sword, and you will dismiss the thrall.

Not sure about this, but I do have the perk that allows to summon 2 atronochs. That being said, I am always running around with 2 Thralls and dual bound swords.

Talk to them and select one of several options:

"Wait here" - the companion (thrall) will stand in place and wait for you to come back and say "Follow me". They are still your follower and as such may enter into combat if you are attacked within their sight and you won't be able to pick another follower.

"I think it's time we parted company" - the follower will leave your party and will wander back to their default location (your house if a house carl such as Lydia, or the place you hired them if other). You can go back and re-hire them at any time but may be required to repay their hiring fee if they have one.

That isnt an option with thralls

The bound spells do not dismiss the thrall. Conjuring other atronachs or familiars does dismiss them, but then I have to wait for their timer to run out.. which is two minutes.

Is there really no way to dismiss them without killing them???

There are conjuration spells to dismiss daedra, even your own, but you don't see them for sale until you have a decent conjuration skill. Otherwise you have to murder them.

(BTW this is a way to grind conjuration, I just realized.)

Unfortunately, Dispel does not exist in this game either on self or targeted.

This is true. But, banish? I guess not if the thralls are undead...

I was afraid of that. I guess I'll keep doing what I've been doing, casting two frost atronachs and getting them stuck in doorways :/

Summon two of the low level familiar. They only last 1 minute ad can be easily killed.

I don't even use the the stupid Thrall spells. Total waste of money.

When I Dual Cast an Atranoch or Dremora they last for 4 whole minutes, and it uses about 1/3 the magicka that the Thrall spells use.

I wish we could have just gotten better summons for the Master Conjuration spells like:

Bound Legendary Greatsword (with fire damage)
Conjure Golden Saint (can switch to a bow if needed)
Conjure Ogrim (massive melee)
Conjure Winged Twilight (you know she'd be awesome)
Conjure Xivilai (you know you miss him)
Conjure Lich (although Conjure Dragon Priest is pretty much similar to this)

Yes, I guess the spells for dismissing daedra wouldn't work on zombies. The shortest duration conjuration spell is probably the one found in
Spoiler
Highgate Ruins

Where do I find Conjure Dragon Priest?
