Whoa, a good use for speechcraft!

Well, my dad always told me that when fighting someone bigger than myself, I should kick him in the shins and run like hell! So I guess rinse and repeat.

Game the AI and jump up on something out of reach and keep peppering the giant with arrows while it stupidly tries to hit a rock. Might have to jump a bit higher than normal.

Poison apple?
Reverse pickpocket a cursed item?
A sling?
Cut its hair?

OH! I know! send in a small person to say "oink oink" becuase if htere's one thing ~~bumbles~~ giants like, it's pork! Then push a rock on it's head from above!

I wonder if you would be able to kill the giant with a bow and a dagger I would seem like those things would just feel like pinpricks in their skin :blink:

I am kind of curious on how you would fight a giant, in oblivion you would probably spam his ankles with slashing and spells but with how the combat system is now, I think that it would kind of stupid to try to brainlessly attack it.

How would you go about killing a giant?

Smart thing to do would be staying back and using a crossbow.

Dragon shouts.

To be serious Dragon Shouts are going to be a very big part of the game. The only way a mere mortal can defeat a dragon is with Dragon Shouts. Giants will probably seem easy to kill by comparison.

(you know since they can"t fly or breathe fire)

EDIT- Wouldn't it be cool if physics came into play for dealing damage? The bigger they are...I'd paralyze them to death!

Well, the little person on The Cape kneecapped the baddie and brought him to his knees and then delivered a knockout blow to the head. That makes total sense to me. Magic would help too so if it's like I'm imagining it, that's what I'll do.

With long enough weapon (spear, 2-handed axe) and enough speed, you could probably hamstring the giants. Of course, a bolt/bullet/arrow/magick to the eye would work, too.

The giant probably has a lot of health, so I would say that the giant will have a chance to attack your ass and that doesn't looks so good for people with low defense.

Meh, If I had the choice I would be shoot him in the knee with a few arrows then while he is in pain on the ground run up and stab him in the face or get to a higher spot jump off and grab him by the neck proceeding to repeatedly cut his throat...
if that didnt work I would kill it with fire... :flamethrower:

Besides that, why can't some of the giants be peaceful? Casually sitting down eating a troll next to a fire waving hello as you pass by...

Giants may be big but there slow, maybe there attacks will be so slow that its possible to dodge them? it would be pretty lame if you couldnt use a melee character to fight them.
