A little dissapointed I didn't get to see any footage of the game, but the next gameplay trailer fixed that!

I was totally apathetic until I read the article about it in Game Informer, and the stuff from E3/PAX. :sadvaultboy:

If only I could go back to those apathetic days. :sadvaultboy:

I laughed, it was at Spike TV, a pretty mediocre gaming show, and then Todd just walks out and announces it. Was very funny.

I was a little miffed it wasn't set in Hammerfell or Elsweyr. I wanted the next one to be in one of those two places. I want a TES game in a desert sort of environment. Real potential for imagination as far as buildings and stuff is concerned there. Take us away from historical European mythological base a bit. Bring in a bit of Arabian Nights etc maybe.

Rumors had been circling for years that the next game would be Skyrim, so I was very pleased to see that Beth had indeed been working on the game.
The next thing I did was rush to the calendar and estimate if I could finish Oblivion before November.

I had started playing Oblivion in August 06 yet only finished the Main Quest last month. Lol.

I had recently filled out a poll on the forums about where you would most and least like to see TES V, right before the announcement, and I put Skyrim at the very bottom. After the "stereotypical medieval" fantasy setting in Oblivion, I wanted to see something unique again. Elsweyr, Black Marsh (Argonia), or Valenwood were my preferences, although I'd have been quite happy with Summerset Isles or Hammerfell. Orsinium was "neither here nor there" in my opinion. The only ones I didn't want were Cyrodiil, Morrowind, and Highrock (because we've already seen them) and Skyrim (because between Solstheim, Bruma, and the Jerall Mountains, we've gotten more than a taste already, and I didn't care for it).

In short, I was less than enthusiastic. At least it's another TES.

I was watching a video on youtube, and I think it was ES related because I kept seeing comments like "SKYRIM!" so I went to UESP, saw the news, went to the official site, watched the trailer. :D

All this was like 30 mins after Todd took the stage at the VGA's (Which I do not like to watch because it is Spike TV)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1JVQwti0zlg sums up the feeling I had when I first heard about Skyrim -- in 4 seconds.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPnvr68j2tQ is also how I felt in the span of one minute and 7 seconds!
