You have to get a certain number of kills with it. You will find this under Operative status>Skill Assessments>Weapons and then the weapon you are trying to gain the attachment for. It will normally say something like REWARD: 1000XP+ symbol. The symbol means when you get that number of kills, you will get an attachment.

It depends on what style you play, it would be pointless me telling you what I use. Some like to spray and pray, so the feline with an extra mag may be good. Others like to work at medium distance so think of the SCAR with a scope. If you like a high KDR then the sniper scope is for you, the standard scope is fine. If you like close in work then go for the shotgun.

It really is up to you, all have their good sides and all have their downs. Try it yourself and find out what works best for you.
