I've been to nearly all the blacksmiths and general stores in the game, I've tried smithing my own, and I can't find out at all how to find nails anywhere. UESP says I can smith them, but that's not accurate. Can anyone help me out here?

Try using iron ingots to smith them ?

Make sure you have iron ingots then smith them at the anvil next to your workbench.
