Why do I think it's a flop?
The goal is to keep Kony famous so US officials can stay in Uganda getting money from the US to pay for the training of Ugandan military. What people don't know is that the Ugandan military is just as corrupt as the LRA and have been known to kidnap, steal, [censored], and murder.
Not to mention the Invisible Kids foundation gives only 25% of their money to the Ugandan people, as the rest goes to the pockets of the rich in the US.
The worst part is that what happens when we kill him? Then, there would be a void waiting to be filled from the abundant supply of corrupt war lords in Africa.
Lets compare him to Osama bin Laden. We killed Osama, but it had little to no effect on Al-Queda. The same would apply here. We would waste millions of dollars going on a wild goose chase finding this guy, and when we finally do and kill him, another guy replaces him who is just as brutal and heartless.
Doing nothing obviously isn't going to help, but the situation that our own countries are in aren't perfect either. There are no jobs, people are starving, we have troops in the middle east and we are on the brink of war with Iran.
The government has been sending millions of dollars over to Africa for the past decade, now all of a sudden this one guy in this one place is blown up by some kids, while kids all around the world, are going through much worse than just being a six slave.
In my honest opinion, I really don't know what I would do in this situation. This 'cause' is sadly going to be a failure, nothing is going to be accomplished except for a mass group of Americans that are furious when the government do something inevitable.......nothing.
