How do you impress the NCR?

Post » Sun Jan 02, 2011 7:56 am

Is it normal for the NCR to remain Neutral for so long?

I've gone through hell for these guys and yet they still treat me like any other civilian, some notable things I've done for them is get relief for the Bitter Springs, I've helped at Camp McCarran to get that Legion guy to speak up, I've killed Cook-cook and claimed bounty, I've got their "misfits" in line, I've done some missions at the embassy and my fair share more for them...

I even have a safehouse from them, I'm vilified by the Legion..

is me being a paladin for the Brotherhood a problem? I don't even know how they'd discover that anyway

So any tips on how to impress them? I've not killed any of their guys fwiw, so what's going on..

Because I like the NCR, they are the best faction out there and I prefer their goals.

If you have their safehouse then surely you have to be idolised.

Like NCR, best faction, prefering their goals.... Does not compute. Join Legion! :D
Seriously though, if you want to raise rep:
1. Go kill legionnaires.
2. Take their ears.
3. Go to Camp Forlorn Hope.
4. Give the ears to a guy.
5. Profit.

If you got their safe house you must be really liked by the NCR. :P So No need I think.
But try and do more missions for them to get more liked.

I'll try that thanks.

But no I'm not idolised even with the safehouse, I have a safehouse with the brotherhood as well though and I'm only accepted..

Is my connections with the brotherhood a problem? Although unless they've magically heard rumours surely it would be impossible to hear anyway about my connections

Getting reputation with the NCR? Hahaha!

Here's a challenge: Get high reputation with the Legion. Don't worry, I'll wait.

They call you civilian because you technically are one, you're not a soldier, just a really devoted mercanary.

What does your reputation tab on the Pip-Boy say next to NCR: Neutral, Accepted, Liked, or Idolised?

For actual reputatation rewards:
Have you completed all of Colonel Hsu's quests? You get a lot of NCR rep from those; have you killed the other two targets Dhatri has available, Violet and Driver Nephi?
Have you helped retake Nelson, or help whats left of Camp Searchlight?

Also, it may be a bug, but I've never found Legionary ears until accepting the quest from the soldier at Forlorn Hope, except for an already dead one in one of the homes in Nipton.

Evil? Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night. What I'm saying is getting high legion reputation is effing hard. There's only 4 side quest (1 doesn't give reputation and 2 of them are unlocked in Fortification Hill). I had turn in 50 NCR dog tags to get to 'Liked'.

Which is just plain awful... It should be biased towards Legion.
I hope you plan on joining Legion at at least one playthrough.

I'm not sure how many playthrough's there will be...

I'm not a huge fan of replaying games..

I just want my deserved rep with the NCR though

Are you wearing NCR faction armor? Your rep will always be Neutral when you wear faction armor.

And you bought a role-playing game.
Well, before you throw it to the side after completing it at least try playing it again but do the complete opposite of what you did in the current one.
The ending sliders can be very satisfying.

Yeah, I don't want to rush until the ending.

I can easily replay a game like Oblivion, Fallout just creeps me though, the game itself is weird, it makes me want to enjoy it first time round and not have to do it too much again..

If you get what i'm saying

Actually no, I don't, but I've been playing RPg's since I was... Nine I think, and am used to replaying RPG's.
The game is weird?
Hmm, gameplay, lore or setting?

It's mainly the setting. Cities ruined, so many people dead etc isn't that great for me

The game freaks me out a little.

I still enjoy it though, just don't love it.

Oh... Then you wouldn't like playing Torment I guess.
Joining the Dustmen is kinda... Depressing... But makes sense...

Try wearing neutral armor. BoS armor might screw up NCR rep considering they're enemies.

It does take a long time and a lot of quests to become Idolized with the NCR....but after doing all those quests you've done you should be at least Accepted or Liked. So yeah, I'd say it's either the armor you're wearing causing it to still be listed as Neutral in the PipBoy or it's yet another reputation glitch.

Did you accept the mission "Back in your own backyard" for if you did this is your problem. I encountered a glitch where accepting this mission plummets your NCR standing. Plus the mission is fulfilled insofar as Boone is concerned during the battle of Nelson. I had to restart from the point just before i accepted this mission. After the Nelson battle (without accepting Back) I was idolized.
