How do you learn the transmute spell? : V

I thought it was an alteration spell, where can i learn it?

You can find it in a few places. Halted Stream Camp just north of Whiterun has a copy in the mine.

i believe Tolfdir will sell it once you reach 50 alteration. you can also find it in a couple dungeons i think but not sure which ones.

I got it from a quest very early on. I forget but it was a side quest or a random encounter. I used it to make a little money because unlike now I didn't have any.

There are several spells you can't buy... Transmute is one of them.

Halted Steam Camp North West of Whiterun. Kill two birds with one stone and talk to Aren (?) in Whiterun before you go. He will ask you to recover his sword for him, and the bandits in Halted steam have it, so.....

Amren's sword can be located in a number of random bandit hideouts near Whiterun, and Halted Stream Camp is only one of them. Of course, I usually get his quest first anyway, on the off chance he does send me there...

Halted Stream Camp has a Spell Tome for it, and lots of Iron Veins as well. Amren Sword misc quest, Whiterun bounties, and Companions have a high chance of tagging Halted Stream, so just go talk to Amren and the Steward immediately, and one of them might tag it for you.

Halted Steam Camp is probably the easiest place to find it.
